on account of its historical value and of the exceptional
characteristics of the intervention carried out on it
In November 1992 the Museum of the City of Buenos Aires, a dependency of the Culture Secretariat of the Municipality of the City of Buenos Aires, distinguished the house by awarding it the status of "Testimonio Vivo de la Memoria Ciudadana". [“Living Testimony of the City´s memory”].
In April 1999 an urban agreement was signed between the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and the owner of the house, in recognition of the great heritage value of the house and of its excellent state of preservation.
In August 2000, the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires enacted Law 486, by which the agreement mentioned above was ratified, and put the building on its List of Catalogued Buildings of the Urban Planning Code (granting it the highest level of protection, that of structural protection). This also implies, among other things, 100% exemption from the payment of street-lighting, street-cleaning and -sweeping rates.
